Wishlist!

Ok, decided to do the wishlist thing! Under the cut, my list :D

Step One
-- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a________ icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

-- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
-- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

-- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy.

Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My list!

1. Cards! I love mail, and I love sending mail. My card post is here, so ask for one, too!

2. Post cards. I have this great display of postcards I’ve gotten from around the world, and it still has holes in it. I want to add your hometown (yes, YOU). My address is in the card post linked above (or email me at vibrantharmony @ yahoo.ca if you're not on my flist -oops).

3. Music. Always always. Recs or downloads, doesn’t matter! A fanmix for a pairing or show that I like? EVEN BETTER.

4. Crochet patterns. Nothing too difficult (I’m not all that good at it). I keep getting stuck in ruts after making too many blankets or wrist warmers.

5. Fic! Things I like: romance, hilarious misunderstandings, sarcasm, time travel, pining, college!fic, fake dating, (um, can you tell I grew up in Smallville fandom?), aliens/magic made them do it (there’s my SGA influence). Any fandom that you think I know enough about, really. My icons are a good barometer of what I’m into at any given time, too.

6. Book recs. I’m trying to branch out into different genres (nothing scary, though - I know my limits) so help me be adventurous. I also like children’s lit (more pictures!).

7. Love. Just, in general! Do something nice, make someone laugh, leave a sweet comment, ♥

8. Picture frames. This one’s a little out there, especially since I know from experience that they’re very difficult to mail. But if you have some (hardy) 4x6 or 5x7 picture frames hanging around that you don’t want, I know a wall that would love to take them on....

9. Holiday fic. Merlin or Smallville or Glee.

10. Graphics of some sort. A header, or icons, or a friends-only banner (I’m thinking about it, still). Pretty things, really. I’m like a magpie.

Feel free to link me to yours, as well, especially if you posted it on time (like, in November :P ). Also, please go back and ask for a card! I have all these stamps left....

wishlists, christmas
