Olympics

I'm obsessed with the Olympics: I've been watching several hours of TV nearly every night. Which is difficult because I don't actually have cable. But I've managed. As a penguin I prefer the winter Olympics (especially Luge, but why do they do it on their backs?), but this will do until the 2006 games in Turin roll around. At least a couple ( Read more... )

Then they'd see how fricking fast they're going and be too scared ;)
But isn't there a form where they go head first and face down? I seem to recall seeing something like that on TV

I had to look it up - you're right. It's called "skeleton" after the sled that's used. It was returned to the Olympics in 2002. I think the problem with the sport may have to do with what part of your body rams into a barricade first ...

Skeleton indeed!!

You've got to be out of your mind to luge, but skeleton?!?!
I think, skeleton was invented for (or by) lugers who hit their head and didn't care anymore!! ;)
