Ok, I'm hoping some of the people who are on my friends list will read this and hopefully someone will respond. I'd really like to know how to make my journal "friends-only" and so far I can't figure it out. So if some kind soul would like to help me I'd really appreciate it.

I just chosse the "Friends only" option in the drop down menu when I'm writing my entries. It's annoying at first to do it everytime, but it's habit now.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. Seems pretty simple so I guess I'll just do it that way :)

Hmm, the picture did come out a lot smaller than I expected. Try going into the coding box, and where it says top left, make it say center left. If not, let me know and I'll try something else.

Hey there :) Thanks for checking things out. I did what you said and it centered it (hey, at least I did that right) but it's still too small. I don't know how hard it is to fix but if it'll be really time consuming or something you don't have to. If you could though I would really appreciate it :) BTW, I'm going to add you to my friends list if you want to add me back :)

This seems to be a sensible option that I took myself not too long ago. In the security drop down when you write your journal entries you can pick "friends" and you can also customize exactly which friends it goes to by creating "custom" lists. Then you click on custom and chose which list the posting goes out to. Don't forget that you can go back and edit old posts to become secure too if you wish!
If you could tell me how you made your journal page so attractive that would be most helpful to me as well! :)

I wish I could help you, but I am actually useless at layouts and got mine from someone else...she's credited on my info page if you want to contact her and see if she can help you. She basically designed my layout for me and then gave me codes I had to insert manually to make it look the way it does.

So if you want you could try asking her...of if you like a particular fandom you could try joining it and asking there...I've found a lot of people that are members of different groups are more than happy to help people get a fandom-related layout :)
