i came over based on your note at iyissekiwa... and i'm sorry, but i just found it so amusing... not that you had a frustrating weekend (i know how those go), but - i mean - you're in ITALY! VENICE! what i wouldn't give to be having those problems in Italy right now instead of here. but i do understand. it reminded me of the time in my 20's when i was traveling to europe alot on business. i was in the taxi driving to the airport thinking 'i so don't want to go back to Paris this month.... what am i thinking! i love Paris! i should so WANT to be going to Paris again this month!' but i didn't. i was tired.

so, anyway. maybe that little bit of perspective is helpful... and maybe it's not. but i just thought i'd share. ;)

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I keep forgetting the outside persepective. Of course, for me it's rather like living in FL and going to Disneyworld. Anyone who hasn't been is like, "Oh, this is so cool!!" but if you live there, and have gone all the time since you were a kid, it's kind of like "Ok, the train leaves now, there will be a million people there because its the weekend and summertime, long lines everywhere, lots of walking, very hot, and to eat anything will cost a bunch of money, so I better bring a sandwich with me."

I love being European, and I love my country don't get me wrong, but the novelty wears off sometimes :P

oh. i do understand. believe me. i loved Venice, but we missed the Ferry and there were two canals under repair when we were there and the lines etc. etc. so i don't find it hard to imagine your frustration.

and i live in a tourist center (Wash DC) and get very annoyed every April and June/July when traffic snarls up, even as i'm driving by these beautiful monuments they pay thousands of dollars to see and i'm just ignoring...

i don't think it's a function of nationality, but of habit.

i just had to laugh tho. Italy is my favorite country to dream of returning to. my two visits there were so wonderful.... someday...

hope today was/is going better for you!

Hee, no probs about the name. Wow, you live in Venice? I'm dying to go to that city. All those canals seem so romantic.

And don't worry hon, the skies will clear and u'll have a better day.

PS. You've not friended me back as yet, would you mind doing so?

Wow, that's great! It's nice to live away in the town coz there isn't as much noise and pollution yet ur connected to the city.
