I (somewhat) return from my LJ hiatus just in time to see this, which doesn't exactly paint a pleasant picture of LJ. Yet it's theljstaff that linked me to it in the first place, so while it didn't come straight from the horse's mouth, apparently LJ agrees with this picture.

Hiya! *hugs* Been a while!

I understand why LJ needs to change, but I think it would be possible for them to do so without screwing over their existing users. Really, it's possible to revamp the site without taking away important functionality. I'm investing heavily in fandom on DW and IJ. Been there a while. You gonna go there?

If I go anywhere, it's gonna be DW.

And yet, very few of the comms are crossposting to other services or even moving to them (actually only my HP comms do that, but they are used to it). So in the fandom will fracture (once again) and try to put roots somewhere else *sigh*

I JUST DON'T WANT THE PORN AND THE FIC TO END OKAY? /selfish

I'm gonna be looking into backing up deancastiel, at the least. We have another community at DW, but no crossposting.
