I often hear about this article, titled, "Where was the colour in Seattle," specifically referring to people of colour and the anti-globalization movement:

Also, there was a really good article in a recent issue of Briarpatch magazine:
green is not the only colour
by Beenash Jafri & Karen Okamoto
Two activists reflect on the state of anti-racist environmentalism in Canada.
The link seems to be broken on their website, but if you email the editor, Dave Oswald Mitchell, I am sure he's send you a copy: editor@briarpatchmagazine.com

Another good reference might be Karl Flecker. He is the anti-racism coordinator at the Canadian Labour Congress, and he facilitated a workshop at Concordia many years ago about people of colour and the anti-globalization movement ...

sorry to write this in your livejournal! I just don't have any other contact info for you.
I'm working with the sierra youth coalition to help organise their winter gathering this year. We're set on having an anti-oppression for the group (14-19 year olds, probably 10-20 participants) and I remember your workshop you did for YEN and really loved it.
Would you be interested at all? The retreat is running from March 13-15. I forgot to ask about honorariums but I can get back to you on that for sure.
