ACLS

Jul 14, 2005 10:57

I passed my ACLS written test and the part where I have to run a pretend "code"! I wasn't too nervous, but I'd prolly shit my pants if I had to defibrillate someone in real life. No more studying for me...for awhile! :)

Fortunately, the ones at my hospital are the adhesive kind instead of the paddles, which I think helps reduce the risk of shocking yourself. I had to use the paddle kind during my test and even though it's only pretend, it is still charged to 30 joules. Also with the paddles, you're supposed to use about 25 pounds of pressure and use those conductive pads. I definitely like the adhesive ones better.
