Jareth is forced to admit that the idea of conquering the world and winning a prize from his beloved are two ideas that both appeal to him. Her talk of conquests gives him ideas on the subject, and in the end she wins him over. "Very well, let us conquer the world. And as befits a king, I shall take these golden armies as my own."

Ali hands him his pieces with a smile. "Then I shall take Theodora's view, that imperial purple makes the best shroud." She arranges her figures in little regiments, claiming parts of Europe and North America for herself, along with half of South America and most of Africa. Let him have Asia; she knows to better then get into a land war there.

He lays staunchest claim to Australia--a land peopled with criminals seems the perfect place to build his armies and his summer palace both, and once he drives her out of New Zeland it will be quite impregnable. However, he also readies an assault on her beloved Ireland, knowing that to capture the emerald isle will be to capture her heart. Again.

Ali's people have driven off other invaders; while she has no desire to lose her beloved homeland, she's focuses on the Americas and Africa. By the end of her first turn, they're both entirely hers. She only hopes her European defenses will hold up.
