And, alas for McCain, congress apparently came to an agreement of some sort this morning with him in a completely different room in another meeting. So now it's going to be hard for him to take any credit for it, and poor Johnny will end up having to debate tomorrow night anyway.
With any luck for the rest of us, he'll end up sounding like a kid who decided not to do his homework because he was sure he was going to get a snow day. (He would've sounded bad anyway, but really I hope he's worse than usual.)
I'm doubting that Congress is going to jump after the bailout. 90% calls are against it--rabidly so. If they do it, it will be without the consent of the American people, and that will prove everything that needed proving.
