Yesterday I was almost home, and witnessed a police chase. It was surreal: I witnessed the near collisions with two middle-aged female pedestrians with police cars, and then, following, found myself driving towards a brilliant rainbow. Installation - November Downtown Artwalk
Last Thursday, I projected this film on the inside of my window at Bert Green Fine Art.
This is my first film. It's based on a book I'm making as part of a class at Long Beach City College with Coleen Sterritt.
The main installation has been up since April. I alter it every month, so it's been evolving. This is what it looks like lately:

A few years ago, I considered quitting my teaching job to pursue other avenues, which would not provide health insurance. I couldn't buy insurance. I couldn't qualify, and my son couldn't, either.

If you don't have kids who have graduated from high school, this kind of thing can blind-side you. Last summer, between Jackson's junior and senior year, he had his official senior portraits taken. The form I saw described the smallest package for approximately $50.00. This is what I chose and paid for. Then, the proofs came back with an order form ( Read more... )
