My nephew is headed to Afghanistan

Cole, my nephew, served in the Panamanian Conflict in 1989. Before he entered battle that Christmas Day, his commanding officer told the group that 15 percent of them might be killed before sunset. Later, Cole wrote that after receiving that directive, he tucked all of the Christmas cards he had received inside his uniform and headed out for battle
