It amazes me..

caffeine's ability to completely transform my mood. I hadn't been drinking coffee hardley at all lately, and shoot, I've been missing out. I woke up in a horrible mood, and now, 10 minutes and a big cup of coffee later, I'm just as happy as can be! I wonder if drinking caffeine once a day is unhealthy?

Once a day? I hardly think so. What skrews you over is the 4+ large coffee's I drink daily to survive! Caffeine is an amazing thing! It helps me get through the day...especially Mondays.

Wow, really? I can't even feel it after the first cup I drink a day, isn't that weird? I'm glad it works for you! Sucks when you can't get to coffee, after you've become dependant on it, huh? =)

Well vic...caffeine is a drug, so of course it alters you somehow. If you are unhappy, and then take caffeine to make you happy- its the same as drinking, smoking, or doing drugs. I guess its where you draw the line but i consider being hooked and dependent on caffine the same as being hooked on alcohol or drugs ( ... )

That is so true, just the fact that I'm dependant on anything is lame, and I haven't just decided to settle with that. I do disagree that it is no different from drinking or smoking weed for this reason - when is someone is drunk or stoned, they are less aware of reality than when they are intoxicated, which is why they get like that in the first place, to forget about reality and get caught up in this simplified little disconnected world that being wasted provides. Me (and others who are addicted to caffeine) on the other hand, are trying to escape from a similar state, the lethargic, disconnected state of not feeing awake into being alert and alive and seeing reality more clearly, there's a very legitimate reason behind why I drink coffee..

But still, I don't like the fact that I now need it to feel normal, just how I would have felt if I never got into it in the first place, that bothers me. Thanks for posting that for me. I appreciate that you'll always tell me if you think I'm ever off in any way

Dependancy does suck!

The human state sucks too though, we're so unhealthy, we're so tainted and degenerated compared to when we were created.

It's funny, my friend Jonah used to be addicted to coffee and sleeping pills at the same time, he'd be like "Drink so much coffee that I can't sleep? Well shoot, just combat that with sleeping pills, and then combat the drugged feeling you get the next day with tons more coffee and then do it all over again!"

It can be a vicious unnatural cycle that tears your body apart and leaves you feeling like crap. Idealy we would all just function completely naturally and healthy

Yeah, those sort of degenerative cycles such, which is why I'm so glad to finally be OFF sleeping pills. Mind you, my other medication is a sedative in addition to it's intended purpose, but I've been trying to come off that medication anyway. Quitting smoking keeps being procrastinated...yeah, I should really take up kick boxing instead, or just chew alot of gum. Which I do anyway...excuse my ranty-ness (ranty-ness?), I have not slept. Peh.

Hey Vick!
You know, I totally love coffee. And I've been addicted to it before. What I try to do is only drink the caffienated coffee when I REALLY need a pick me up! If I'm craving at other times I just go ahead and drink decaf. Not quite the same, but it gives the flavor. Sure I'll let myself go for a couple of weeks drinking it on a regular basis when I need to...but then I wean myself back off. I think it's healthier that way. Like right now...totally addicted! But a 40hr work week, a 5 week English class, a speech class, and a philosphy class will do that to you! ~ Ruthie

Well......I don't have much free time. The hard part is I've been getting sick. Esspecially this weekend. I had an asthma attack that last most of the day on the 4th, and then I had another one last night that was shorter, but still worse. It's REALLY frustrating!
