Why are you whining? Everything's free and the stuff gets provided to us for nothing. Pretty ideal. I'd be griping about the kidnapping stuff more.

Hmph. That sort of thing doesn't concern me.

I don't see what's so hard to understand. Considering the village doesn't have any form of currency, the economy of this place is quite simple.

I understand the different methods of running an economic system. But one where everything is free can easily be taken advantage of.

Exploiting weaknesses becomes easy. One of such an economy can be theft, which could be justified as not being theft by those with criminal minds due to things being free. This leaves those unwilling to work in such ways with a lack of necessities.

And unless there's an unlimited supply of materials. Supplements will be scarce in a short amount of time.

I suppose you have some competence then.

Human nature interests me.

This place goes against that. The principle of scarcity doesn't seem to apply: needs are met, wants are kept artificially low. People work, but without compensation. People do not hoard resources and thus raise up a power structure.

I wondered if this kind of apathy and general complacency had anything to do with the increased population of non-humans than what I'm familiar with.
