I like Terry Pratchett, or rather I like his books. I think I would like him personally, but that's just guessing. Having started at the beginning of the Discworld series, I'm amazed by how he has grown as a writer. By the effortless convolutions of his profoundly clever and observant mind.

Which is why I take this pretty hard

Wow, that's... hearing it is like a blow to the chest. I'm glad he's taking it so well, and that he's still writing. His *Discworld* books have only improved over the years.
