Somehow I don't think this photo of the torch relay in Indonesia really captures the image of peace and friendship Olympic folks would like to portray.

I think the Olympics have degenerated into a farce, especially this year. I know the arguments for why Beijing was chosen for the Summer Olympics but I don't think they have the same meaning they used to and rather than a unifying event, it is merely a pale parody of that which it used to be.
