There are lots of things you can do with a law degree that don't involve working with criminals. You could, for example, work for a museum in its legal department.

But that aside, if you want to pursue a career in Anthropology, you should realize it's even more competitive than law right now. And law is awfully competitive. It will mean graduate school and post-doc appointments and living like a nomad for years as you move around to different campuses. Eventually you'll be competing for one of a very limited number of tenure track appointments.

(I'm not an anthropologist, I'm a physicist and aerospace engineer. But I work close enough to academia that I see what goes on in other fields.)
