GIFT EXCHANGE!

Dec 26, 2010 09:14

If you're here, you might have had an invitation from Victor's journal to your journal or a text on your phone or a note on your door; however, since the prospect of going through all of her friends and sending a message to the ones that she has presents for sounds daunting at best and frightening at worst, here Victor is ( Read more... )

A small gift appears on a nearby table, wrapped in blue paper and gold ribbon. Inside is a mechanical heart, gently pulsing, lit up from the inside.

She opens it up, blinks hard, running a finger across the outside of the box. Billy. It had to've been Billy. She can recognize his handiwork anywhere, and he's had access to her plans. She feels all twisty in her insides, (because, oh, it's gorgeous), and while Victor is a bit too manly to cry, any casual observer might get the impression that tearing up is not out of the question.

Billy! It's beautiful! Come down here right now, I need to hug you and give you presents!

Gorgeous and infinitely customizable. So as Jude grows up, Victor can adapt his heart, too.

I would if I weren't super busy right now and by super busy, I mean in the middle of a very important experiment.

Ten seconds later she gets a second text:

omg. I'm on a fuckin time machine. You can just hear the headsmack.

Billy, you are so beautiful to me. Get your sciencey gluteal muscles over here right now. Or when your experiment is done, you know, whatever works. I'll be here a while.

Cole drops by and sneaks up behind Victor, covering her eyes. "Guess who?"

"That handsome alien boy from Snarglon Seven?" she jokes, reaching back behind her to touch his wrist.

"Well it's no fun if you peek." He smiles and leans down to plant a kiss on the top of her head. "Close, but no cigar."

"Good, because smoking is terrible for you," Victor says, tilting her head back to grin up at him.

Hannibal had a little something for her. It's a little metal box he'd welded together out of scrap metal, with a hinged lid. Nothing too artistic, just infinitely practical. He figured she could use it for something.

Victor doesn't know enough about Hannibal to know what he needs, but the blue-wrapped box she gives him has something she thinks he'd like.

It's a thin book, and about the size of a large cellular telephone so that it's portable, and it's titled Zen in Emergencies: Exercises to Clear Your Mind When **** Gets Real, Yo by Joanie d'Aubigne.

He carefully pulled the paper off after setting his own box beside her. His lips twitched as he read the title, and before long he was laughing. He flipped through the first few pages, still chuckling.

Victor wiggles, tapping her foot on the ground, looking bright, and alert, and thrilled. "Is that for me?"

And the laughing? That's perfect. She's beaming fit to split.

Clark has a present for Victor, and since it isn't anywhere near December in his world, it makes strategic sense to deliver them in person. Not to mention he likes any excuse to see his friends.

Victor found Clark a Warrior Angel computer game, because she remembered that he liked him. In this game, you get to play as Warrior Angel, and you have to work your way up to battling Devilicus. The save-'port/heath regainer place is in Warrior Angel's Aerodrome. It's in this neat little box, wrapped up sky blue.

Clark doesn't often get to enjoy videogames, but he grins as he opens the box. "Oh, I'm definitely going to make time for this sometime soon." And getting to pretend to be a superhero who isn't Superman is a novelty he doesn't get to experience much either.

"Gosh, yay! I'm glad you like it!" As soon as she gets to it, she is putting that hat right on her head. "And I love this! I'm totally gonna wear it everywhere." The labels on the boxes give her pause (she remembers red in regards to kryptonite when it involves Clark, but then... wouldn't it be awesome if he captured the color red and put it in a box?) "Am I allowed to open 'em up?"

Horrible comes with a note held between his fingers. "You rang?" he asks dryly as he PINs into the room. "It better be a good present. And by good present, I mean a triceratops that shoots rockets from its snout."

"You're bound to be disappointed," she says, wrist pressed to her forehead melodramatically. She points to the only red present. Inside that box is a blue box, and inside the blue box is a thick-banded ring for him. The stone looks just like the earth, with clouds that sometimes scuttle across the surface. In the top of the box is a note that says, Yes, I will.

He opens the box, slips on the ring and admires it, and then finds the note. He grins a little and then grabs Victor by the collar, pulling her closer. "You, me. Significantly fewer clothes. Horizontal. What do you say?"

"Woah," she whispers, glancing furtively to the side, then she leans in to give him a peck on the cheek. "Right now?"

She did not expect today to be a Makeout Monday given that it is Sunday, but Horrible is an orator of great skill and she finds herself being convinced.
