For Hannibal

The single most important thing is the costume, she thinks, and she fretfully straightens her hems (disguised as a man, because being a girl where they're going to go is just too much work).

Her favorite part of the costume is the top hat, worn old just so, brown, with a wide band around it and a peacock feather, and she thinks she might start ( Read more... )

He would have been uncomfortable in clothes like those, if he hadn't gotten himself into a disguise mindset. It definitely wasn't anything he'd wear on an everyday basis. Though he had managed to snag a long, calf-length coat that reminded him of a safari jacket, even if it was rather old-fashioned. He belted it over his slightly Victorian suit and pulled on a pair of black gloves before donning a top hat. He slid his cigars and his lighter into a pocket in the jacket. He had his handgun in a shoulder holster underneath. It might be a weapon that would stand out, but it was one he knew and trusted. Of course, he didn't plan on fighting unless it was necessary.

Smoothing the front of his jacket and taking a deep breath, he moved out to where Victor waited. He tried to hold himself confidently as the man he was pretending to be would. "What do you think?"

Victor loves to dress up, and it's so clear in the way she claps her hands, grins up at him. "Look at you, handsoming up the place. All you're gonna have to do is waltz right in there, give 'em a grin and boom, adventure over."

Vic, of course, doesn't carry weapons, unless you count her wit, which she pretty much has to have a concealed weapons license for in the state of California.

Hannibal chuckled softly and flashed a bashful smile. "I really don't think that will happen." He didn't think he was particularly handsome. Not bad looking, of course, but nothing compared to Face. And he didn't think it was important. "So, what now?"

"Oh, c'mon you." She knuckles his shoulder lightly, buddy of hers. "And now, off we go." Victor makes sure her leather bag is slung firmly over her shoulder, offers him one arm (safe inside a coat) and pulls out a piece of machinery, carefully altered for this very occasion to have wooden plating and brassy buttons.
