Nah, I don't want other people peeping into my life. Only friends can do that!

i wish we could have met for lunch in Tallahassee. Perhaps some other time?

My invitation still stands.

But who are you kidding, you know as soon as this new job starts you'll be working 70 hour weeks and won't see the light of day for a couple months ;)

how awesome. I really likes those shots, but I found myself wanting high-res versions, especually of the ocean. You should make me a desktop picture. Dooo eeeet!

What an awesome trip, though. It sounds like you have great fun. :-)

It was great fun. I'm still tired, though. I hope to recover enough to go out tonight!!

Are you running a 1024x768 display? I'll be more than happy to send you a desktop background of the Pacfic! Is the e-mail address in your userinfo correct?

Also, were you ever able to get into my iDisk?

Your 50mm is in ... how do you like it?

my 50mm is the greatest thing ever. Even without zoom, it's amazing.

I'm not even sure how much I like zoom....but wide angle shots certainly have their place. If you look at my journal, you can see some shots i've taken with it.

Very crisp too, much crisper than my stock lens. That being said, yes, 1024x768 would be awesome. You should post a lil desktops gallery! C'mon, do it! :-)

I'm glad you like the lens. It really is a terrific lens, especially for the price. Prime lenses most always resolve better than zooms, with only a few notable exceptions (the 70-200mm f/2.8 is probably the only zoom lens that can match a prime).

When my old system was destroyed last year and I had to start over, I went for almost a year with only prime lenses: 24mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.8, 90mm f/2.8 and a EOS 1n. I had to get used to not having a zoom, but it really helps to get that experience. You learn to "see" in different focal lengths. Unfortunately those prime lenses won't work on my 10D (they're old Sigmas), so I had to get a couple new lenses. But whenever I use my 1n, I still use only the prime lenses!

Those new photos you posted look awesome, BTW.

WOW! Robert. I did not think it was possible for me to have this much respect for you. That truly was an extraordinary experience that you shared. I mean really, WOW!

I am really glad the whole sleeping in your car thing worked out pretty well for you over all. I was concerned about that.

I particularly enjoyed reading the parts about you being the only tourist in that one town in Texas for a day...I can relate to that, gives new meaning to the term tourist attraction eh? and the border search of the Camry sounds like it was quite an experience in itself too, hehe, oh and you taking the time to call someone to announce your presence at Pacific ocean and nobody was able answer your call. You have such a great travel story/experience to added to your already diverse collection.

Amazing Robert. Really awesome. Thanks for sharing.

It looks like the name on the steering wheel in the first photo says "CAMPY" which is hilarious. It would be even more so if you had something like a dancing hula girl or a bobbing dog on the dash.

I can almost hear Wille Nelson in the background.
