Having said that, there's no guaranteeing that you'd find Iceland as fascinating as you'd expect - the grass does tend to seem greener on the other side of the creek/pond/ocean, and all that. Of course I don't really think that would happen, but I must admit that I'm biased. ;-)
I stood for the longest time and watched the full moon - the weather was gorgeous and so was the moon. I just wish I had a lens that could catch it properly.
Lovely pics, as always. I specially like the 2nd one with the full moon. If you are interested in knowing more about Alaska, one of my LJ friends is wordspoken, who lives in the Fairbanks area at a place called North Pole. Like you she is a very accomplished photographer, you might enjoy friending her.
I've checked out what's public in words_spoken's journal, and her photos are gorgeous (I'd say they're much better than mine, but that might look like a cry for compliment :).
