There is a thing in American Christiandom called "promise Rings." The short of it is that a girl puts this ring on her left-hand ring-finger and sees it there to remind her that she's not going to have sex until she is married.

In the prosess, she fools people into thinking she is married.

I've heard several girls complain about that! They've said that they put the rings on their fingers to remind themselves, and remind guys. And the guys they want to attract, go out with, and marry, are the kind of guys who see rings and respect them, so they don't go near girls wearing promise rings. It's so self-defeating!
