Nader came to speak at my community two days before the election. I was really interested in what he had to say and the way the liberals and pro-kerry folks acted alone, made me want to read more about him. I am convinced they were upset because they knew he possessed some sort of power for actual change. I'll have to pick up the paphelet you reccomend.
Nader may have some good ideas and, to some point, I agree with him. But the important thing to remember is that a good leader is different from a good activist. A leader listens to the people, and when his OWN party did not nominate him as a presidential candidate, he should have listened. In a sense, that destroyed what political legacy he had created up to that time. Hopefully, he can still remain a source for change even though he may not be suited for the mainstream, and downright nasty, political arena.

yeah i understand what you're saying. nader running for president is purely symbolic. some even argue that his stubbornness in this arena has done more harm than good.
but with his presidential candidacy aside (not that i necessarily denounce his candidacy or endorse for that matter), i respect him for being an active, authentic and relentless fighter. him pamphlet actually isn't about his his candidacy. it encourages young people to have an active civic life.
I'm still amazed by Nader. He fought the auto companies back when it was unfasionable, now he's fighting politicians and it's unfasionable. Despite overwhelming bad press, he's still fighting, and still getting votes. I like him. Where can I find Civic Arousal?
Che was amazing. No doubt. You should check out the documentaries that've been made about him.
i bought it at books-a-million. it was in the political section i believe. bn and perhaps small bookstores probably have it. it's thin (about 50 pgs) and only 4.95. well worth it
i'll have to check out the che documentaries. i make trips to a university library about an hour away periodically. they have amazing films and documentaries!
tell me what you think of the documentaries. the cia had che locked in a small house before they executed him. che knew that he was going to die. a young girl would bring him dinners and they'd have conversations. she's still alive and they interviewed her. very poignant.
