In a debate about whether to euthanize an elderly relative who recently came out of a coma-like stupor just long enough to say "Kill me" in Yiddish:

Older son: Yeah, sure. Death is no big deal, because life is just, "Blah, blah blah."

Huh, what season is this from? I watched most of the first 3 season on Netflix before I got burnt out/ ran out of available episodes. It would be nice to pick back up on the show some time.

This speech is from the fourth season. I'm pretty sure season three was made during the writer's strike, because it got really off-base and all the characters became cartoons. However, I just watched the final episode of the fourth season, and the fourth season is brilliant. This speech (among many) is one of those moments that made me catch my breath for how powerful television as a medium can be. Because that one moment wouldn't be as powerful if the audience hadn't followed the characters all the way up to this point.

The show's definitely worth a go if you forge past season three.
