Зачетная фотка в листьях!

Кстати, на всех катках где я был (и в Израиле, и в штатах) в обязательном порядке висит канадский флаг :)

A y nas nikakih flagov ne visit.
Zato Oh, Canada and haTikva are sung every morning in school. They alternate between them. I do not recall singing haTikva every morning or singing Souz neryshimui.

Здесь, слава богу, гимн не поют каждое утро. Только присягу верности американскому флагу. Йоньку это бесит, и я его понимаю :)

no swearing, making oaths or pledging allegiance vicush December 31 2014, 06:27:29 UTC
The pledge of allegiance is a form of an oath, and therefore forbidden for a religious jew. Go claim Yoni's religious liberty and get him excused from it. Take into account that this would excuse Maxim from the same pledge as well, if they are in the same school.

I was supposed to swear "I swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen." as part of citizenship ceremony. I did not. I affirmed instead.

Vain oaths: It is forbidden to swear vainly, as it says "You shall not take the Name of Ha-Shem your G-d in vain". There are four types of vain oaths: swearing that a well-known thing is or is not so; swearing not to observe a commandment; and swearing to do something that it is not possible to do.
