TRANSCRIPT:

Hey, I'm Cozz, and I want to cover So Sad, So Lonely by SD Wolfpup. It's another Spike vid, and it's a Buffy The Vampire Slayer one. This one, I think it's pretty old, but it's one of the first ones I really got into when I was really first exploring vids in general, and I really like it because it's really fun, and the song choice is perfect for Spike, it's amazing, this song choice is. And she actually really got me heavily into this song, too, I had to go and find it because I loved it so much.

One thing I really like about this vid the "kick the Spike" aspect of the series, at least through 90% of certain seasons. It's kind of like a cowboy song, you know, you're sad, you're lonely, but you keep on trucking kind of a song--that really sums up Spike in general, and I think that's why the clips are chosen with those themes in mind. Like, where Spike, he kind of gets hit by a lot of these characters, but at the same time, he perseveres and he adapts, because he has no other choice, he's a survivalist, and the more he gets kicked down, the more he keeps on going, and he finds things to smile about too, which as a Spike fan, that's the reason why I am a Spike fan.

There's also a lot of laugh moments in there, but that matches the beat of the song, too. I think SD Wolfpup has a pretty big talent for matching the lyrics and keeping the beat of the song, too, like with the attitude of the song, and that whole jig. So, really, there's a lot of dynamics to it really, when you think about it. I mean, Spike is a pretty complicated character, and so is the vid, because I mean it really shows is happy, you know, weird next door neighbor-ness, and then it shows like kind of the sadder moments of his character, and getting back up and doing it again, and it's all, you know, happy season--it's kind of like funky season 4 Spike.

My favorite part of the vid is around the 2:20 mark, and that the scene with Harmony matching the guitar strings, I love that thing, it makes me purr. [laugh] You know, again, it progresses, with the relationships, and Spike getting kicked yet more times and getting into more trouble, and his chip, and his thing with Xander, and kind of getting rejected and tossed around... A lot of people misunderstand season 4 Spike, because they look at him as kind of just a weird next door neighbor-y kinda guy, and he really is, but it's also part of the growth that we see later on, so it is an integral part of his character, and that's really why I like this vid, because it gives a lot of appreciation to that section of him. I mean, I think it really does summarize this part of him quite well.

Again, love it, bye.
