I'm having trouble w/masking in Sony Vegas... UPDATED!
I'm trying to learn how to do masking (for video manipulations)...
I've been following videos like this:

and they make it look so easy, like adding the anchors and stuff. But my anchors go out of wack, and I can't move them the way that all of those ^^^ show them. They make it look like you can just click and drag, but mine doesn't do that. It just pops up those legs to the anchor and goes all out of whack. (In that last video, at 1:47, is what I mean. They make it look so easy but if I click a point, I get an anchor leg freaky thing that messes it up. And I'm using normal edit tool to move them but no luck.)

The feather and stuff doesn't work right and it makes my manipulation look very chopped and unrealistic. :(
And ignoring that, when I try to add color to both the bottom and the top clip, the top one (which is masked), all the unused area turns into this weird black color, drowning out the bottom clip... I have it set to source alpha.

I don't know how to fix that!!
AND also, randomly, my SV started lagging when I try to do the pan/crop and stuff. It wasn't doing that before, but when I move the thing left or right, it like jumps, and it's not smooth, and it doesn't go where I want it to go. It takes too large of jumps.
edit ~ fixed that part, I had snapping selected to make it choppy.
Here are my computer settings, if it helps?
and I changed the priority of SV pro 8 to High on my Task Manager.
I don't know what else to do. I don't think I should be having this much trouble... Especially since it's made to look so simple. Like it'd be a simple solution and I'm just clueless on it.

edit ~ I think I know why the top video created a dark bar around the mask, because the video sizes are different (I have to change them both to widescreen), but I don't know why it STAYS different, or how to get the dark, unnecessary area from showing in the video...
edit ~ figured out the lagging crop too. I just need to fix the masking now...???
