What is the purpose of a mission statement? To summarize your life's goals? To focus your mind on where you want to go and what you want to be?

What goes into writing a mission statement? Is there an outline?

Does anyone know how to begin writing one? I don't even know where to start. Any ideas?

basically, a mission statement is something, most likely could be defined as a rule or a guidline.

There is not outline, but you could start by making a list of things that 1) you desire. Goals you'd like to accomplish in life. 2) Things your enjoy/love. Something that makes you happy and will assist you in accomplishing #1. 3) Alternative in case you stray from your goal. Try not to go off track, but we're only human and we makes mistakes 4) A backup plan that might help set you back in the right direction.

Get your thoughts down on paper. You can always change it once you've decided on a direction. Afterall, it's not like it's written in stone.

Good luck and let me know how things turn out.
