Rome's reach of Europe, Africa and portions of the Middle East loomed large. Several characters in Hetalia were in their past either invaded by Rome, fought with or had contact with him, even if this has not yet been shown in the canon materials. Latvia was a mess of different territories, but he did have SOME contact with Rome. There's Baltic amber in Mediterranean tombs :|b

Oh, dude, I forgot about the Old Prussians. UH. Because Prussia is not Old Prussian necessarily. He conquered them >.>

But yeah. That was over in the Baltic area and Rome MIGHT have heard of those people (they probably had a different name though...). But it's to be establish that Prussia is not those Prussians. He's German and he conquered and Germanified them... much like how Rome did small tribes and whatnot.

Rome did do some trading with the Baltic region, but he'd most likely recognize you as a descendant of Germania. Germania sure left around a lot of bastard children, Rome says.

Haha. Prussia is definitely a bastard child. I dunno who would claim to have brought him about but he kind of grew up on his own in the middle of the Crusades SO. |DDD
