Ooh, I'm glad you liked that bit, too! For me that really solidified the confusion that Damon had in his delirium of which girl he was with/which girl he really wanted, and whether it was just lust (Katherine) or love (Elena).

This was so lovely, I don't even D: Your choice of words is always so evocative, and I always love your Damon/Elena dynamic because it's hard to tell what exactly they feel for each other, it's so many convoluted feelings and emotions, they hate and love each other equally desperately and I love how this fic brings that out.

I just wrote something like this (Well mostly different, but the 'drunk' thing), and I'm going to have to try so hard not to steal this exact line because it's one of my absolute favorites from any fic.

Darling, you flatter me! Thank you. (Also I got to this comment too late because I already read your posted story, but I was going to say, I give you full permission to use the line anytime if you want!)

And as always, you totally get it. What really draws me to Damon/Elena is their complexity. I love Stefan/Elena as much as any Damon girl can, but they've just always been milquetoast to me in comparison to the rich subtleties that make up Damon/Elena. There's always so much subtext with their every interaction, and it just makes me want so. much. MORE.
