the shock of going from 20 people in my classes to 200 was very different. the campus is way bigger than loyola, the type of people that go there are different (read: big state school, not a lot--if any--"rich party type" kids), there's not a huge social scene, it's kind of far from where i live.
however, i really do like it now. i've grown so much from being there; college is about getting a degree, growing up, and learning--not partying all the time, hanging with your friends, etcetera. UNO has really forced me to grow up and look at my career and the future, instead of babying me like loyola did. i'm so happy now and so optimistic about the opportunities i'm going to have that DO NOT cost a lot of money like loyola did. in fact, it's all free.
so, the moral of the story is that UNO is no loyola, but fuck, loyola is in no way UNO. i've made friends and met people and found my niche and i really do like it now. i'm just happy that i'm going to have a respected degree.
It took me awhile to get past not going back to Loyola - it's not even that prestigious anyway - but for some reason it just seemed so much better.
I already had my party semester freshman year when I nearly failed three of my classes - I think I'm pretty much done with roaming around the campus area drunk. Are you graduating this year?
