Well we've had discussions about this. Life experience is the greatest source for inspiration. Even if it's just a spark and you need to add dragons and magic ponies, it's those moments time, that pain or joy, the sensation, you know?
Which reminds me that I should get off my butt and write that urban/gritty HP fic that will make all my Potterfile friends disown me.
