When I was a kid in Washington, it had been raining and my brother and I were playing in the woods behind the house. We were walking tightrope-style on log that was slick with the rain when I slipped, landing my leg on the nub left by a broken-off branch. It poked a quarter-size hole in my leg and left a rather nasty scar on my inner left thigh.
