CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS
Lenalee Lee "Princess"
Axel first met Lenalee when he couldn't fall asleep, and there after he's been sleeping pretty soundly with her help. At first she came off to him as a person who was too good to be true--someone with a heart as pure as her own is rare in his World--and was perhaps apprehensive towards interacting with her, but eventually the barriers between them broke down. From then on she has always intrigued him and perhaps touched him in away he can't quite explain. She's one of the few people in the City he legitimately cares for and trusts and would go out of his way to protect.
Roxas "Little Brother"
Axel feels that he owes a lot to Roxas for everything that he has ever given him during his life as a Nobody: a sense of place and meaning, and that sliver of happiness he never thought he would be able to experience without his heart. However, given everything that has gone wrong in the City and the bad memories, Axel holds himself back and often avoids Roxas completely out of guilt and frustration. He wants to make things better with his best friend...but somehow he thinks that things will never be the same; he'll only make them worse.
Xion "A Lost Memory"
Axel doesn't know her or understand her completely, but despite that he still treats Xion like a little sister and a best friend. He knows that she is sensitive and often tries to avoid interacting with her during poor circumstances, but in the end he still returns to make sure that she's all right and safe. He wishes that he could remember everything about Xion, but given the information that she's given him, Axel remains unsure. She's one memory that he isn't sure on if he wants to keep or not.
Reno "Brother from Another Mother"
Yo, brosis. This guy showed up in the City once before and now that he's here again Axel feels like he can have a little more fun. Reno may be a little less cocky, but overall Axel thinks that they are one in the same. That said, he knows that he has to be careful around Reno and make sure that he doesn't leave too much out in the open. After all, he's afraid of knowing what he truly is; Reno is practically a mirror showing off just that.
Elena "Sweetheart"
She started off as an acquaintance, but eventually Elena became Axel's superior. However, he certainly doesn't treat her as such and would much rather put too much sugar in her coffee than turn in his paperwork on time. He tends to be overly playful with Elena if only because he wants her to break out of her shell and have a little fun once in a while. So far, his tactics seem to be working.
Theta "Weakling"
Prior to the Heartless event in the City, Axel considered Theta to be a potential tool, but now he can only think her weak and absolutely disposable. Having sided with Ansem to control the Heartless and bring upon the deaths of some civilians, Theta has labeled herself as pathetic in Axel's book--her heart isn't strong enough to wield the Darkness he resides in. To be frank, he finds it insulting and laughable and at the first sign that she might strike again he will not hesitate to kill her.
Jayne "Puppy Boy"
Somewhere along the way Axel and Jayne began to flirt, if only because Jayne had to be a little Cassanova and call Axel cute. From then on Axel has been teasing and leading the guy on. He knows that Jayne is expendable and certainly foolish, so if there's something Axel wants from him, he won't hesitate to use his cuteness to his advantage. Sorry, Jayne.
Sora "Light"
He's the kid that will fix everything and make things right again. Axel has a large amount of trust in Sora, which says a lot, and there's little that he won't do for the kid's sake. Although things can be a bit awkward between them considering that Axel literally killed himself in front of Sora's eyes, Axel tries his best to keep them close.
Namine "Little Sister"
Namine is at the top of the list of people Axel protects. Although he knows that she indeed has strong powers and a strong will to match, he also knows that she cannot protect herself all too well and that she is susceptible to being manipulated by anyone if they have the upper hand. Having said that, he acts as her...bodyguard in a sense, while at the same time making sure that she's learning how to fend for herself and stay independent. He owes Namine a lot for what she did in Castle Oblivion, after all.
