Good post...but somehow i believe restricting FDI is truly not the answer...One thing we need to realise is that when companies like Wal Mart do start coming it will create employment in thousands probably lakhs...When a communist country like china has opened its doors to retail giants like Wal mart, there's no reason why India Shouldn't..The indian left parties are still stuck in the pre 1950 era and harp abt imperialism and other things...to truly develop we need to open up in a big way....

that is one of the two extremes. true that we opening our doors would do good but isn't it a blow to local vendors? feel it can be balanced, but not sure how.

Hey, I have read this a couple of times now, and although it talks abt things that i for now believe in ( wonder how !! ). This could have been structured better. Another topic this post missed was the subsidies the developed countries are giving out to safeguard their own industries from being taken over by imports.
