Girl Scout cookies

Can I say that I'm in love with the Tagalongs Girl Scout cookies. I can't get enough. I try to be reasonable and not buy a million of the boxes, they are $4 a box!! And only 15 in one box just doesn't cut it. I just ate 10 without a thought. I need more and I need them the rest of the year, not just for the season right now. Chile, the Little ( Read more... )

I tried them for the first time on Sunday. Cookie crack. I made Brian take the remainders to work.

Your cookies are more expensive. Ours are $3.50 per box.

Knowing that doesn't help the fact that I still don't have my cookies because the troop leader messed up the entire order and they did not have enough. Have to wait until Thursday!

I think they were $3.50 last year. I guess with our cost of living they feel justified charging us more. I'd probably still pay it though. I do remember when they used to be $2 though. Just think of it this way, you have more time to enjoy them longer. :D

You gave them up? I still have 2 more boxes at home that I'm trying to not eat all at once and I'm still debating buying more when I go to Vons and they're selling them out front.

Ours are $4 a box as well. I picked them up last night but I'm afraid to open them. I know once I do, I will eat them instantly. I'm thinking of trying to say that they are my treat after lunch at work, and just packing 2 or 3 each day in my lunch. There are a lot of hours that I'm at home though and the cookies wil be calling....

See it must be a cost of living thing. I need to say in control of how much I eat. Doesn't help that my boss gave them to me here, so I have to have them at my desk calling my name.

They're in L'ville. If you check the website, the caramel delights are what we call the samoas.

Good God - how funny would that be? A bunch of women in their late 20s/early 30s faking badges and troop meetings just to get to the cookie drive? I be we'd outsell them all!!

Yup - I'm convinced that Tagalongs are the devil. I made the mistake of only buying one box this year, and Terry and I plowed through them in a matter of minutes. I actually spent about an hour last weekend driving from grocery store to grocery store looking for a girl scout booth. Finally managed to find one at a WalMart neighborhood market and bought their last 2 boxes. Of course, they're gone already.

As a side note, I've found that the peanut butter/chocolate cream Oreos, while not even close to being in the ranks of a Tagalong, tide me over nicely for the rest of the year.

I just combed the Keebler website looking for something similar. Looks like the Fudge Shoppe Peanut Butter Fudge Sticks are comparable. I may have to try them sometime, and the Oreo ones, thanks.

I got hooked on those All-Abouts this time around. I've never tried any of those newfangled cookies before this year... I've always been a GS cookie traditionalist, e.g. Thin Mints and Samoas. Oh, we've come a long way, baby!

I used to eat the Thin Mints religiously, and then discovered the newfangled ones. And you have an excuse, eat as much as you want, for the rest of us who can't.
