So it turns out Habitat for Humanity has, like, standards about what donations they'll accept. I have a sofa and a loveseat that are in excellent condition, never been in a house with smokers or pets (only owned by two households), they have slipcovers, still pretty comfy. you should get a leg up in the hiring for being disabled and you should finally work to get that designation. It can't hurt. You don't have to broadcast it to the world for every job you apply too, but state and federal jobs are very good at working around disabilities and stuff like taking care of old parents, so that would be ideal for you.
