I really need out of this business

Poll As many of you are aware, in THE REAL WORLD I am a server. So while the rest of you are doing end of the year reflections, thinking about New Year's Resolutions, and playing with your Christmas toys, I'm thinking about how much people suck. XD

I'm just saying that working yourself up over it is silly, because it's not personal. Your Server is just a person, and this is just their job.

I have listened to everything you've ever said about how to treat servers and it has all stayed with me. I'm a barista, which is hardly the same, but we do get the same attitude of how whatever is going wrong must somehow be our fault or personal decision, and it's just maddening. I WANT TO BE THE CUSTOMER WHO UNDERSTANDS. So every thing you write up, I read, I take to heart, and I share with my friends.

The funny thing is that my family has lived in this town for so long and it's so big that a good quantity of the people know us or know of us and it's all a very friendly environment, in fact for me it's been an ongoing joke that I'll go out to eat and people I don't even know will hail me and chat forever about such relative, we always leave a least a little tip even if the server is busy that day, we get friendly service it's just that they are sometimes very busy. That is the restaurants not the fast food joints like sonic and mcdonalds...

The only real problems I've had with the above ffj is that they repeatedly put onions on anything I order even if it originaly doesn't come with onion as in the case of the MCchiken sandwich. I'm not deathly allergic but I can't stand the taste and it's always a horrible surprise so I've gotten into the habit of checking before I take a bite.
