So in my Literature to film class I read through "All the President's Men," and see the movie of course and only get a 8/10 from the homework assignment. i liked the movie

i thought the twist at the end was a cop-out...normal hollywood bullshit where they're going for the sensational or tittilating, outside of the integrity of the work

like i said, normal for hollywood

my only mistake was expecting better, but it's happened often enough to be a shame on me sort of thing

great job on the post. very nicely written, but as for movie adaptation, i would suggest expecting little and being occasionally very pleasantly surprised...it leads to less disappointment and frustration

hell, even lucas sold us out after the first three

Generally I do try to keep expectations low in any sort of media I am interested in, but I do have to admit that my feelings for the book is definitely what tarnishes my view of the movie. If I had not read it first, I guess I would have found it more favorable like a lot of people have. It certainly seems original and interesting and there is not denying the work behind the setting ( ... )
