This reminded me of a story I read a while ago - after a bit of diligent searching I bring you a link to a story in which Maglor (From the Silmarillion, an elf fated to remain in Middle Earth and not return to Valinor) meets the Tuatha de Danaan - it is not long, and by a good writer - Beneath the Hollow Hill.
