11. When was the last time you visited the park? Who did you go with?
A few days ago, with Greg. The Oamaru Public Gardens are just down the hill from us.

12. What language(s) did you take in high school?
French, Latin, German, and Japanese. Languages, physics, and chemistry were my favourite subjects. I bucked the system by wanting to take both

How fortunate you are to have such lovely garden within walking distance. I envy you!

It's down a steep hill, so it's not a nice walk back. You've got nice flat walks in your neighbourhood as far as I can tell. Don't you have a park about 15 minutes away? I thought you mentioned it once.

Yes we have 2 moderately big parks in our neighbourhood. But here, “park” often means sports fields. In the park there are many trees and small playground for kids (with slide, swing and other equipments) but often most of the area is used for baseball ground or tennis court etc, not for botanical garden or nice stream, not very good place to stroll around. In Yokohama we have some very good gardens with beautiful botanical garden or big flower beds but not in my neighbourhood, I need to take public transportation to visit them :(

I had a similar choice to make, though I had to drop Latin due to timetable clashes. Japanese wasn't offered at my school, though I would have loved to study it.
