The ballerinas sound horrendous. Even worse than my experience which was being taken to choose wallpaper aged 7 or 8 and picking William Morris willow bough only to have them put that in the bathroom and I got pink roses. I used to stroke the bathroom wallpaper sadly. When we moved I never had wallpaper again, only painted walls which I put posters and pictures up on

I love William Morris wallpaper. I wish you'd been able to have it in your bedroom.

Our wallpaper here was already painted so we did the same (pale grey over horrible colours like olive, brown, dark purple...)

When my sister and I were 16 we came into a bit of money and repainted our bedroom with murals.

One wall was Starfield with the Enterprise flying through. One had a huge snake. When we moved due to Dad getting a new job, the next owners kept the ship but painted over the snake as it gave their kid nightmares!

You must have been talented! I was have so loved a space theme. As for snakes, I've always like them though there aren't any in this country. I have however been wrapped in a huge python, and had hundreds of tiny snakes all over me, both in Thailand, the tiny ones at the Snake Temple where they live. I brought two articulated wooden snakes back for me and my sister, but she was as horrified as the tourists who saw me, so I kept both.
