Trying not to be depressed over the fact that my friend is going to see Santa with her kids without Chloe and me, because Chloe is sick

The Barenaked Ladies Christmas album is pretty upbeat, in a silly sort of way. I particularly like their version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen with Sarah McLachlan, which is fun and less silly than some of the album.
Gaudete as sung by the Medieval Babes is gorgeous.
I also like Huron Carol, as long as I don't think too much about its origins. I've been listening to the version by the Crash Test Dummies this season.
I have the Bare Naked Ladies and concur. I had the Medieval Babes Album and I got rid of it, I kept Holly and the Ivy, because it was the only Christmas Carol I recognized. I'm kicking myself now, because everyone is rec'ing Gaudete. And I can't bring myself to re-buy the song.
Huron Carol was written by a 17th century Jesuit missionary to the Huron people. I suppose I'm just generally troubled the whole notion of missionaries and especially missionaries trying to convert the North American aboriginal peoples.
The carol itself is pretty, though I understand that the most commonly used English lyrics are nothing like the original Huron lyrics.
