Oh, this is so sad and sweet and gentle, it's like Arthur falling to pieces without a single sound. I love the details: needing to remember how to tie his tie, the note from Philippa, the jello from James, Cobb smiling and bringing him sammiches.

And Eames in full military dress. FULL MILITARY DRESS! I so dearly want a picture of that!

The ending made me clap and smile with appreciation - the sudden hush, Arthur realizing that Eames is home, and the class clapping and whistling as they kiss!

Damn, it was only on the second reading that I realized Dom might have been lying to him just a bit at lunchtime - sneaky!

Life's all about the little things.

I try to put in a lot of detail so it feels more real, y'know? And yes, I'd like to have a picture of Eames in full dress too. But, alas, I have very little artistic talent. *pears over at f-list* Maybe I can get someone to do it for me.

It wasn't my intention to make Cobb sneaky, but now that you mention it, maybe he wasn't giving the WHOLE story.

I'm always a tiny bit wary of AUs (they never seem to come in in-betweens; they're either fantastic, or fantastically forgettable), but I really enjoyed this, and would definitely like to see more of this universe. :D

AUs are hard to get right. You have to have to know the characters well enough to put them in a new world where they still act like themselves.

Nice to know I did well enough for you to enjoy this. I'm hoping to have more up after the weekend.
