Canada’s Involvement in WWI [ Personality ] :
Canada is everything opposite of his brother, America. He’s quiet and reserved, and often forgotten about. Rarely do the others even remember who he is. On top of that, to add insult to injury, he’s often mistaken for his loud, boisterous brother and because of this, is blamed for many of the things Alfred has done. Sometimes it even goes as far as to others punching Matthew, mistaking him for Alfred. He takes everything in stride, however, and continues to try and clue them in on their mistake. Most of the time the young man is calm and soft-spoken, rarely raising his voice and yelling, unless otherwise provoked. Half the time he’s used as a chair by Russia as the running joke is that he’s virtually invisible to the others. It seems that France is one of the very few who actually knows who he is and remembers him.
Aside from being shy and reserved, he can also be very passive-aggressive when pushed. This is best evidenced when he got into an argument with Alfred and Matthew made the other cry while spending a good three hours pointing out all of his flaws. Drawing further on this side of him, Matthew has a bit of a temper and this temper of his shows when he’s at his breaking point (as evidenced with his yelling at Alfred). He also doesn’t do well under pressure and, sometimes, has been known to lose to his calm and explode (again, as mentioned previously). In conjunction with being overlooked, he isn’t one who speaks up very much at all which causes him not to be heard when discussing important topics. Everyone will be yelling around him and he’ll still be quietly waiting his turn in a polite manner, waiting until he is called upon to talk. Unfortunately, he almost never gets to voice his opinion because of everyone else.
Still, he’s generally a nice enough person to be around once someone realises that he’s not America and that he’s, well, actually around. He’s friendly to pretty much everyone, no matter who they are and he likes to share his maple syrup. He’s also quite laid-back and a bit slow compared to someone like America. Once he spent an entire weekend doing nothing but staring into the eyelashes of his bear, Kumajirou, and America commented that it was probably a good weekend for someone like him.
As well as his passive-aggressiveness, he also tends to be a bit cynical and sarcastic. Most of the time this is reserved for Alfred, but it anyone who gets on his nerves is offered the very same treatment. Matthew is also not one who enjoys violence, either. If possible, he always tries to find non-violent, diplomatic, solutions for conflicts if at all possible. However if one must fight, then he will, with reservations. Overall he’s a good person who tries to do what’s best. Despite this, his lack of confidence is something that tends to hold him back a bit as he doesn’t apply himself as much as he could.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
He has awesome strength and the ability to take blows that would kill a normal person. Then again, being the personification of a nation will do that to one. So he’s really hard to kill and all that good stuff but can still suffer broken bones like a normal person. He just heals faster.
…he’s also shy and a bit of an introvert. This sometimes gets in the way because he’s not quick to defend himself and tends to hate resorting to violence. He will, however, tell you all the reasons you suck if you push him hard enough and even hit you if it comes down to it (don’t knock his hockey rage). He doesn’t yell very well and even when he does it’s usually barely above a normal voice since he speaks rather quietly as it is. This makes it easy to overlook him (and gives him the power of invisibility!).
…of course, that doesn’t mean he’s capable of literally making himself invisible. It just means he’s really good at being overlooked and everything. This is both a strength and a weakness since it means that people forget he’s around and don’t miss him but it also means that he can just sit around and listen in and not worry about things (unless he wants to be heard, then it’s a problem).
He’s also a pretty damn good shot and has been known to be feared on the battlefield but that probably won’t come up.

Waking with a start, the blond-haired man was unsure of when he had fallen asleep under a tree. Come to think of it, the last thing that he remembered was doing paperwork, in his office, not frolicking through a field and falling asleep in the sunshine. Quickly climbing to his feet, Canada sighed to himself and adjusted his glasses. This was just great. It was probably America’s fault, somehow. He just knew it. Checking his pockets, he soon realized that he didn’t have his normal cell phone. Instead he had… what was that, anyway? All the poor man could tell was that it wasn’t his.
“Oh this just keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it, Kumajirou?” Turning, he looked around for the white polar bear that he had been talking to. Wait. Where had he gotten off to, this time? Was he even there to begin with? “Whatever’s going on, it seems that answers are in short supply.”
Sighing softly to himself, he took a deep breath and ran a hand through his hair. Well. He might as well start walking. One way or another, Matt was bound to get somewhere. Either that or someone was going to drop from a tree or pop up from behind a bush and laugh at him, telling him how gullible and easy to trick that he was. They were all likely scenarios. As he walked, he noticed that there seemed to be some rabbits hopping around. Cuteness finally got the best of him and he stopped to see if he could pet one.
Kneeling down, he slowly reached out a hand. The fluffy white thing didn’t move. Instead, it didn’t seem to show any fear as it started to hop towards him - and then bared it’s teeth. Jumping to his feet, Matt let out a rather unmanly scream as he ran, pretty sure that the thing was going to eat him if he didn’t get away.
“You guys win, all right? This isn’t funny!” There was, unsettlingly, no response to his frantic words.
[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] : Comment: Peter the Great’s obsession with midgets was a bit unsettling.
EDIT 7.24/11: He still be retaining his previous memories of Vatheon and Kuma will still be accompanying him if it's all right.
