It comes across just fine. All the context in the world to pick up what Koschei's looking for, and it sounds fantastic. "I've never loved running around in the cold, anyway." Not that, you know, time travel and teleportion weren't available, but again: he gets it. "Any idea what we're having for dinner?"

"That depends. Do you have any food or shall go buy whatever I please?" With Jack, one never knew what was in his kitchen, aside from coffee. Coffee was a given.
