Working in State Offices

For most of my career I have worked in State Offices, but still some of the things that go on surprise me. In NJ, I work at this sprawling office park - long confusing corridors but only 1 floor. The thing that surprise me most this time (not including the fact that it took 7 months to get access to "the network") is the smoking. A LOT of the state

In my particular agency as well as the system I work in, reading a novel or paper at your desk outside of your mandated lunch or break time would get you fired.
