How do you clean your jewelry or maybe Seth or Rachel could answer what is the best way to clean jewelry? I don't like to take jewelry off...ever. Seth says that the best way to clean jewelry would be an ultrasonic, but unfortunately, those you get from Brookstone are not eaxctly industrial strength. Seth says that his father uses hot water and a little bit of soap solution in the ultrasonic at the jewelry store. Seth says that you should never resort to jewelry-cleaning chemicals that you can buy because very often those contain harsh chemicals that pit the metal. Be careful never to put anything soluable in the ultrsonic such as opals or pearls, because the ultrasonic will ruin them quickly. If it is a lrage shiny piece of jewelry, use a blitz cloth instead of the ultrasonic. Seth says you can put a little dish soap in the ultrasonic, that probably will not ruin anything. Also, you may need to continue using the toothbrush in combination with the ultrasonic.

I know that when I go to Seth's father's store, I always toss my jewelry into the ultrasonic. Your neighborhood jeweler may be fine with you doing the same.

I have a family friend who has been a jeweler for decades, and he actually recommends using a weak solution of Mr. Clean to clean jewelry. It's always worked for me.
