Lately I find maps.google.com very helpful - just type in the location and a keyword in front of it. Ex. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=store+storrow+drive+boston&sll=42.352674,-71.085946&sspn=0.047128,0.11158&gl=us&g=storrow+drive+boston&ie=UTF8&z=15

Thank you. I am familiar with Google Maps. I need to study a specific area for my architecture school project. I need to know where the retail shops, restaurants, apartment buildings, and other landmarks are located,etc.

In other words, I don't think Google maps will help me that much....

Hmm, I think municipal zoning maps can be of great help in that case; not sure if it's available for Boston online, though...
