Title : You Talk Religion But She Won't Convert
Ship : Jo/Laurie
Words : Word is messed up so I'm not sure but under a 1000
Rating : R ? There's sexual content

Note : This came about after I watched the movie and cried and cried for those two strange kids.

It's the middle ground they find not a happily ever after.

It's something unsaid, like an unwritten rule they all know that Laurie belongs to Jo.

They like acting out Shakespeare when they take their walks together. It's just something the two of them do; their little secret. He does Edmund rather well and she usually takes on Lady Macbeth. Even in role play they are a match made in heaven, or rather hell, he points out.
These walks of theirs end the same way, she hugs him tight and he brushes his lips to her cheek.
It's a farewell every time they part.

*

She's kissed him before Amy and she's done it twice.

The first time it's an accident. She hugs him and somehow their lips touch, maybe for a second, it may have been longer but the blush that creeps to her cheeks after makes her look more beautiful even with wind swept hair and dirt on her nose. Laurie for his part hurries home with something like tightness in his chest which he attributes to the cold weather.

The second time however is a moment Jo locks in her heart forever. It's a late night by the fire and with heated discussions and fiery
debates, it is impossible to mask the passion. She takes his face in her hands and kisses him with her eyes open, taking the words right out of his mouth with her tongue against his. It lasts longer this time and after she simply tells him,

" I wanted to know how it would feel. "

*

He asks her to marry him, to be his forever and this is the only reason she turns him down.

Miss Josephine March won't belong to any man, no she would just have it so that men belong to her.

She is heart broken more so than appears. His hurt eyes chide her for her cruelty and he can't help despise this woman who trampled all over his heart.
Little does she know, she despises herself too.

*

Something not known by the whole March clan is that she sees Laurie in New York.
He drinks and gambles and smokes like a chimney. Who knew Jo had the power to ruin a man.

She sees him at a hotel, a blond on his arm. His hand at the base of her spine, it sends a shudder of inexplicable hatred through her, her eyes flash and that is when he sees her. The sly grin that plays at his lips burns her up inside.

They fuck in his bed at the hotel with the lights on. She rips off his jacket with an ease and grace that surprises him.

" Why Miss March you really are an accomplished Little Woman aren't you? "

He goes down on her and while she comes she moans his name and the grim satisfaction that takes possession of his soul brings him peace he has lost for some time. He asks her to marry him while he kisses her breasts, watching the colour rise up her neck, tracing it's
progress like an artist painting his masterpiece.

*
He marries Amy when she refuses him that night at the hotel. It's bitter and fuck it he will be a March by association, one sister is as
good as the next.

When she blows him on the night on their wedding, he smiles to himself. Jo would never.

*

She sees him with her sister and it tears at her heart.

The surprise of the meeting, it drives her to the pantry and he follows her there. He thrusts into her, with his new bride only the thickness of a wooden door away, with his mouth on hers her shows her he loves her still and that nothing will ever change.

They are still Jo and Laurie and they belong to each other.

*

They go away together, to the hills. She tells her new husband Laurie is helping to find teachers for the new school. It's a lot of new and she needs some old right about now. They live together as man and wife in a little cottage up in the hills. When she makes him his tea, he kisses her hand and a sad smile comes to his lips for what could have been.

She walks around the little house of their fairy tale in his shirt and nothing else and he kisses her legs, her thighs until his lips find the moist warmth between her legs. He licks her and its like they are back in New York.

She doesn't want to ruin their get away and so they talk and take long walks and they fuck every night and they live in the now and don't
think about the what ifs and the could have beens.

*
He gets her a ring on her birthday. She thinks she is too old for gold tinkets but she loves it anyway. It ends up on a chain around her
neck, always close to her heart and he gives up on trying to get her to put it on.

*
It's a part they play the two of them, when they are with their spouses and when they are together in company. His hand always finds hers under the dinner table and their fingers brush when they pass each other by.

Its the two of them forever because if it is physically possible to own some one, then sure as hell they own each other.
