Necco's are still being cooked 70 years later! gregorygrosberg January 31 2022, 04:14:16 UTC
I've read the news that Necco Wafers stopped selling these in 2018 after bankruptcy until Spangler Candy's started selling them again in 2020. I've seen on Google Shopping that they're still selling these like on Amazon, they cost like $28 for a 24pack, that's like $1.17 a roll now in 2022 compared to 10cents back in 1952!. I'm haven't tasted a Necco wafer yet but from what I heard it's like a minty chalky flavored taste or something?. For a paraphrased perspective from Randee Dawn from the Today website, Necco Candy's is one of the oldest American candies from 1847 originally from the New England Confectionery company, these candies have been used by to feed soldiers during both the Civil War and WW2, along with past American scientific expeditions to Antarctica.
